Welcome to our Home

We are Nina and Markku, and there are Pupi (lhasa apso) and Peikko (collie) also in our family. We live connected to nature, slowly like life used to be before inter-net and technology. Our home area is safe and peaceful, next to fields by a little river. We are situated in the edge of Kaivola village in Pertteli, 10 kilometres from Salo center.

The house is made up of two parts. You will stay in Kalevala Retreat part, which has own entrance, toilet and bathroom. There is electrical heating by radiators and floor-heating in the bathroom. Decoration is mainly made by our hands or our dear-ones.

We live in the other part of the house, only a door knock away.  We will host you during the whole stay and help in any way we can. You are warmly welcome to our Finnish Home.

Access to Nature

Natural life in relaxed rhythm! Finnish nature is pure and the air is clean to breathe. In the winter-time we see Milky Way when the weather is clear. We get snow and it stays white as there is no pollution in the country-side. In the summer there are birds and butterflies among flowers and green trees. Whenever you miss a fluffy friend, Pupi and Peikko are also happy to delight.

Everyman’s right gives you free access to spend time in nature regardless of who owns the area. Read the instructions carefully and always remember to honor nature and animals in their home. In Salo and surroundings, there are amazing places to explore more!

Healthy and Tasty

We grow vegetables and take care of the garden to produce fresh fruit and berries. The ingredients we buy, are mainly grown naturally nearby in small farms. We make everything gluten- and lactose-free in our kitchen. Kalevala Pie and traditional Finnish breakfast with a twist are freshly made for you.

Disconnected

You can safely disconnect from electrical device and connections  (phone, tablet, laptop, social media) with us. We wish you can experience the authentic You. There is a chance to find inner peace by relaxing in Kalevala Retreat without any interruptions. Living in a moment really is liberating and makes senses sharpen.
